Adult Ministries of Live Oak Baptist Church consist of: Sunday School Classes, Women's Missionary Union (WMU) and Brotherhood (Men's Ministry). In addition are various Mission activities that include the "Under the Shadow of the Steeple", Visitation and Committee designations.
There are two Couples Classes. One is under the direction of Hal Goodwin, who teaches the Bible, following the Lifeway Sunday School literature. The other class is under the direction of Rod Hodge. Rod teaches practical Christian living, covering all areas of the Christian's personal, social and Church life.
The Women's Ministry is under the leadership of Lynn Gordon. Their goal is to get the Ladies of the Church involved in Missions, along with being involved in the everyday life of the Church. The Men's Ministry is under the direction of Billy Powell. Their goal is to take care of the physical aspects of the Church buildings and grounds, as well as meeting the needs of the men in our local community
The Remnant (Youth Group)
Live Oak Baptist Church has a great Youth Program. Over the past few years, the Youth Group has really grown, making it not so easy to fit into small spaces! Recently, the Youth Room was moved to a bigger space within the Church, to accommodate our growing Youth Group! The Remnant Youth Group meets on Wednesday, during Church, for Bible Study. This is held at the same time as the Adult Bible Study classes.
The Youth Group takes part in many events that are made possible by two very amazing people. The youth are led by David and Julie Smith, who mentor to the youth, guide and help them grow in their faith. Some events may be just a gathering of fellowship to praise God, or an event as big as the "Acquire the Fire" or special youth retreat.
Any person is always welcomed among the youth, and they are sure to be greeted with open arms. The youth are not only involved in their activities, but they are also a big part of the overall Church functions.
