Live Oak Baptist Church takes seriously Christ's command, that as we are going we are to preach the Gospel to everyone. This means next door as well as around the world. Our goal is see souls saved and lives changed for the glory of God and for the advancement of the Kingdom of God. (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8)
Presently LOBC is actively ministering in the Amazon river basin of Brazil. We are based out of the small city of Sao Luis, MA. We have been actively supporting the local pastor's effort to create new preaching ponts throughout the region with the village of Cajari as our launching point. Since our coming to Cajari in 2003 we have helped start six new preaching points. We are seeking to start more preaching points about an hour south of Sao Luis in a little town called Sao Simone and to continue to strengthen the church in Cajari.

As a church body we actively support through the Cooperative Program, the International Mission Board (IMB) of the Southern Baptist Convention, helping to place missionaries around the world. We also support the North American Mission Board (NAMB)of the Southern Baptist Convention, which involves mission enterprises both locally and around the United States.
Locally, we are involved in the Disaster Relief Program of the Florida Baptist Convention to help individuals and families affected by hurricanes, tornadoes and floods. We do feeding programs, muck outs and cleanup. Also we do local ministries to help the poor and needy in special proactive ways. We have "no sell" garage sales to get clothes, household item and other needs into the hands of the community. We have an active presence at the Nassau County Fair. We have food give-aways and clothing give-aways. All of these events are no pressure but a Gospel witness and a Gospel tract is given to each person with whom we come into contact.
We support the Northeast Florida Baptist Assoc. and its ministries such as the Mobile Dental program.
There are many other ministries in which we are involed for the sole purpose of being in obedience to God's great commission to tell the world of Jesus, mighty to save: The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, Rock of Ages (prison) Ministry (missionary Jeff Campbell), The Baptist Children's Home and others.
